so i try not to make my updates too personal, because at the end of the day who wants to read my diary entries, right? but i recently landed a new job as a personal swimwear fitter for Melmira Bra and Swim and i have to show you some of these maillots!

i’m in the middle of training, but part of the process requires me to try on almost every suit in stock – which is a lot. for those of you who aren’t familiar with Melmira, they aren’t a typical retail environment. appointments are almost always recommended as you are paired with a fitter (soon to be me) with each visit. there are no suits on racks on display, if anything the boutique looks like a spa.

the fitter takes you into the fitting room and from there you talk about what you’re looking for and for what occasion you are shopping for. then the fitter simply feels around your ribcage and waist and goes to the stockroom to find your perfect suit. it works the same way with bras and other lingerie too.

it’s pretty amazing and it’s certainly one of the stranger jobs i’ve acquired over the years but i already love it. here are some of my favourite swimming costumes so far.

Canadian designer, Shan

Aussie brand, Seafolly

The Other Aussie, Jets

now all i need is a glass bottom boat and some tropics… complete opposite of what’s outside, but a girl can dream.

but now that i think about it, i do have some pretty hilarious diary entries from ages ago. might think about posting those one day..

  1. That seafolly photo is so wicked. Love the colors.
Your work is awesome. And your brother is quite the suave gentleman, if I do say so myself.
